The Acta Solum Journal is a journal that publishes research results in the field of soil science (soil physics and conservation, soil mineralogy, soil chemistry and fertility, soil biology and biochemistry, genesis, and soil classification, land survey and evaluation, and environmental management) and other aspects related to soil as plant growth media

Peer Review Process

Manuscripts submitted to Acta Solum will undergo an initial formatting, plagiarism check, and scope evaluation by the editor. Eligible manuscripts are then independently reviewed by two peer reviewers using a Double Blind Review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed.

Reviewers are selected based on their scientific reputation and the relevance of their expertise to the submitted manuscript. Reviewers are given a maximum of three weeks to complete one round of the review process. Reviewers’ recommendations constitute the primary basis for editorial decision-making.

Editorial Decisions

Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editor may issue one of the following decisions:

  1. Accepted
    The manuscript is accepted for publication without any revision.

  2. Revision Required
    The manuscript is accepted subject to minor revisions. Authors must submit the revised manuscript within 20 days from the date of the decision. Manuscripts returned after this period will be treated as new submissions. Revised manuscripts should be submitted through the author’s account in the Acta Solum OJS system.

  3. Resubmit for Re-review
    The manuscript requires substantial revisions and must be resubmitted for a second round of peer review.

  4. Rejected
    The manuscript is rejected and will not be considered for publication in Acta Solum.

Article Publication

Manuscripts that have been accepted and completed the layout process will be published in the In Progress issue prior to the release of the regular issue, in accordance with the journal’s publication schedule. This allows the articles to be indexed and cited at the earliest opportunity.

The final decision regarding publication rests with the Editor-in-Chief, based on the recommendations of the peer reviewers.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
