Mangrove wetlands play a crucial role in maintaining ecosystem balance, climate mitigation, and coastal community welfare, particularly in the 611-hectare area managed by the UPA Wetland Environment at Lambung Mangkurat University in South Kalimantan for integrating conservation, research, and education. This study aims to design sustainable facilities using biomimicry that mimics natural mangrove adaptations, producing adaptive buildings with minimal intervention per the Ramsar Convention. Zoning methods cover conservation, research, and education with nursery plants, observation towers, researcher cottages, coworking spaces, exhibitions, and community workshops. Results yield functional facilities supporting ecological preservation; conclusion: this innovative model is recommended for national mangrove rehabilitation to empower local communities.

The stages of children's education are given based on age development and children's skills that are different from each other. Metaphoral Architecture is one of the design methods that is felt to be in accordance with the thoughts of children who at an early age or kindergarten tend to be simpler in assessing something that is seen combined with the Deep Learning Joyful Learning approach which this approach refers to an interesting and fun education for children.

PUSKESMAS LANDASAN ULIN BERDASARKAN KLASTER INTEGRASI LAYANAN PRIMER (ILP)

Landasan Ulin Community Health Center in Banjarbaru City requires reconstruction to accommodate a cluster-based health service system in accordance with the Minister of Health Decree Number 2015 of 2023 on Primary Health Service Integration. The architectural problem addressed is how to design a community health center that supports health service clusters based on life cycles by applying the wayfinding concept as a medium for direction coordination and spatial orientation through intuitive elements of zoning, color, materials, and signage. The design results in a building with five cluster zones (Management, Mother and Child, Adult and Elderly, Communicable Disease Control, and Cross-Cluster) featuring simple geometric forms with directed circulation, a wayfinding system through distinctive colors, informative signage, and accessible spatial arrangements. The design integrates functional, aesthetic, and comfort aspects while considering health building standards and strategic site conditions on Jalan A. Yani KM 23, thereby creating an efficient, inclusive, and easily accessible health service environment.

The design of the Nursing Home in Amuntai City is motivated by the lack of specialized facilities that support the well-being of the elderly. Elderly individuals require a safe environment with adequate care and support, while others often experience loneliness due to limited social and natural interactions. This study applies a biophilic architectural approach, integrating natural elements to enhance social engagement and improve residents’ quality of life. The findings indicate that incorporating green open spaces and communal areas effectively reduces social isolation and promotes both physical and mental well-being among the elderly.

Hulu Sungai Utara Regency possesses significant potential in the local craft industry, particularly in products derived from wetland-based materials such as purun and water hyacinth weaving. However, this potential is not supported by adequate facilities for product promotion and marketing. This condition highlights the need for a facility capable of integrating promotional, marketing, educational, and empowerment functions within a unified architectural system. In response to this issue, the Craft Empowerment Hub concept is applied, integrating economic, social, and cultural aspects through a functional-architecture-based design approach. Through an analysis of activity patterns as the primary basis for determining spatial requirements, circulation, and zoning, the design produces facilities that include a gallery space for promotion, workshop spaces for education, and craft kiosks for direct marketing activities.

PENGEMBANGAN TERMINAL PENUMPANG TIPE B KM 6 KOTA BANJARMASIN

The Type B Passenger Terminal Km. 6 in Banjarmasin has been developed to enhance a more efficient, integrated, and sustainable transportation system. However, issues such as circulation conflicts between vehicles and pedestrians, lack of optimized public spaces, and limited integration with the surrounding environment persist, affecting user comfort and accessibility. To address these challenges, the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) concept is applied, focusing on building mass and form, circulation and connectivity, and optimization of public spaces and social interaction. This concept is implemented to establish spatial order, improve circulation efficiency by separating vehicle and pedestrian pathways, and provide more comfortable and functional interaction spaces. With the adoption of this concept, the terminal is expected to enhance accessibility, reduce dependence on private transportation, and serve as an activity hub that functions not only as a transit point but also as a public spaces that supports social interaction and economic growth in Banjarmasin City.

PUSAT INFORMASI GEOPARK MERATUS DI BANJARBARU

The Meratus Geopark possesses significant potential in geological, ecological, and cultural aspects that must be managed sustainably through conservation, education, and local economic development. However, there is currently no information center capable of presenting these potentials comprehensively and immersively to local, national, and international visitors. The main challenges in designing the Meratus Geopark Information Center include issues of accessibility, infrastructure availability, and the effectiveness of information delivery to visitors. To address these challenges, the interpretative approach and the immersive information concept are applied in the design process. The interpretative approach is employed to translate the geological, ecological, and cultural values of the Meratus region into meaningful architectural elements, allowing the building to function as a medium of communication between humans and their environment. Meanwhile, the immersive information concept supports the creation of an interactive and in-depth educational experience through spatial organization, lighting design, and visual technology. Through the implementation of these two approaches, the Meratus Geopark Information Center is expected to serve as an educational and conservation facility that effectively communicates information while also functioning as a cultural and sustainable tourism promotion center, contributing to environmental awareness and local economic growth.

The design of the Special Needs Elementary School B Banjarbaru is based on Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2003 Article 5 Paragraph 1, which guarantees the right of every citizen, including children with special needs (ABK) who are deaf, to receive quality education. The urgency of this design arises because hearing impairment is the second most common disability in Banjarbaru City. However, a specialized school focusing solely on hearing impairment with adequate facilities is not yet available. SDLB B Banjarbaru focuses on deaf students, therefore, the concept is the deafspace with its five principles: sensory reach, space and proximity, mobility and proximity, light and color, and acoustics. Thus, it is hoped that this concept can address the problem, which is the fulfillment of the SDLB B Banjarbaru design with adequate facilities and infrastructure for deaf children.

The design of the Waste Management Education Center adopts a recreational education concept, presenting environmental learning through interactive, inclusive, and enjoyable spatial experiences. Using the Architectural Programming method, the project integrates creative workshops, educational pathways, and visual elements made from recycled materials that function as environmental communication media. By applying sustainable architectural principles across environmental, social, and economic aspects, this facility aims to enhance public awareness while serving as an educational destination that encourages long-term behavioral change toward sustainable waste management.

The growing interest in photography in South Kalimantan, particularly in Banjarbaru City, is evident from the increasing number of active photography communities in the area. This condition creates an opportunity for Banjarbaru to develop as one of the creative economy centers in the field of photography. Currently, photography learning facilities in Banjarbaru are still limited to short-term community workshops, while photography exhibitions are only held during certain events. Therefore, the Photography Training Center and Gallery in Banjarbaru is designed as a facility to accommodate both photography training and exhibition activities within an integrated building. The design applies a Modern Architecture approach, which emphasizes function as the foundation for shaping building forms (form follows function), while prioritizing simplicity, spatial efficiency, and organized layouts. Three main aspects are applied in this concept, including functional zoning, the use of minimalist and natural materials, and connectivity between spaces and buildings through comfortable transitional areas.

The Vocational and Productivity Training Center is a transformation of the former Job Training Center, aimed at improving the quality and quantity of vocational training through competency-based programs, adequate learning facilities, and collaboration with business and industrial sectors. Banjarbaru City currently does not have a representative facility that functions as a central hub for skill development and local workforce productivity enhancement, indicating the need for a training center capable of responding to labor competency demands and increasing employment competitiveness. This project applies the principles of sustainable architecture through a Design Thinking approach, implemented in the planning of site massing, building design, and circulation systems to create an environmentally friendly, resource-efficient, and productive learning environment that harmonizes with nature. The proposed facility is expected to become a center for community empowerment, improvement of human resource quality, and support sustainable local economic growth.

The Integrated Waste Processing Facility is designed as both a processing area and an educational center using an interactive approach and recycled materials. The spatial layout is organized based on Bloom’s taxonomy, incorporating stages of information, observation, interaction, and creation. Recycled materials function not only as construction elements but also as visual and physical learning media. The integration of educational and processing functions within one site creates a spatial system that supports improving community understanding of waste management at its source.

The design of the area was developed into a comfortable and inclusive active space, with the use of natural materials such as wood, exposed concrete, and vegetation to create a healthy and harmonious atmosphere. The design results are expected to be a forum that encourages the Banjarbaru community to live more actively, healthily, and sustainably.

Libraries play an important role as centers of literacy, education, and social interaction. However, in Banjarbaru City, particularly in the Landasan Ulin District, the availability of adequate literacy facilities remains limited in terms of spatial distribution, capacity, and the ability of spaces to respond to diverse learning patterns and literacy activities of students and university learners. This study aims to design an Adaptive Public Library in Landasan Ulin by applying a programming method to comprehensively analyze user needs, site conditions, and building functions. The adaptive concept is implemented to address evolving learning behaviors and dynamic literacy activities through spatial flexibility, legible circulation systems, and the integration of digital technology as support for user activities. This approach allows the library to function not only as a reading facility but also as a community-oriented public space capable of accommodating future changes in user needs. The design outcome is expected to provide a relevant, comfortable, and responsive literacy facility that supports the development of learning culture in the Landasan Ulin District.

BIOSKOP DAN PUJASERA DI BANJARBARU

The Indonesian cinema industry has shown significant growth with a total of 60 million viewers in 2024. However, this growth is still concentrated in the Java Island region. The government is working to build cinemas in various cities, including Banjarbaru, to improve industry equity. Currently, cinemas in South Kalimantan are located in shopping centers with relatively expensive ticket prices and limited facilities. Given these conditions, a combination of cinemas and dining areas such as food courts is needed through a hybrid approach with the "Temu Ramai" concept. This concept combines both functions vertically, creating a transitional space used as a public area with visitor-friendly accessibility between floors.

LAYANAN JAGA KESEHATAN MENTAL DAN EMOSI REMAJA DI KALIMANTAN SELATAN

The increasing number of mental and emotional disorders among adolescents in South Kalimantan, particularly in Banjarbaru City, highlights the urgent need for a preventive platform to help young people maintain their mental and emotional well-being. The lack of youth-friendly mental health facilities and the persistent negative stigma surrounding mental illness are the main challenges. This study aims to design a mental health service based on the Healing Environment approach, which seeks to create a preventive environment. The design method used in this project employs the Healing Environment approach, in which design elements applied to the building and site include natural lighting, cross ventilation, calming color schemes, integration of green open spaces, and the provision of various facilities such as hypnotherapy rooms, art spaces, expression rooms, and spiritual activity areas. The design outcomes show that a consciously and naturally designed physical environment can have a positive impact on the psychological state of adolescents. In this context, architecture does not only serve as a container for activities but also as a medium for healing and prevention of mental health issues before they become more serious. Through the integration of various functional spaces such as hypnotherapy rooms, “Our Story” rooms, painting rooms, writing rooms, music studios, and educational spaces like seminar halls and discussion areas with spiritual dimensions, the design supports healthy emotional expression and social interaction. The inclusion of natural elements such as natural lighting, cross ventilation, green visuals, and open spaces enhances a calming and soul-refreshing atmosphere.

PERANCANGAN ARENA LATIHAN FUTSAL DI AMUNTAI

Therefore, a building in the form of a futsal training arena for young people is needed in order to support this sport to become more popular and develop over time. By using a modern architectural concept that prioritizes the needs of function and simplicity of the building, it is very suitable to be applied to the design of this futsal arena. As a result, the futsal training arena that is designed can meet the needs for more adequate training and competition, and of course also gets support from supporters who can watch training and matches.

PERANCANGAN MASJID JAMI DI DESA MELAYU KABUPATEN BANJAR

Melayu Village is known for its strong Islamic teachings, which remain strong to this day. As time goes by, these Islamic teachings are beginning to fade. One way to maintain them is through community development. Generally, the mosque is the vehicle for community development at the village level. However, in reality, there is no mosque as a vehicle for community development. Therefore, the design of the Jami Mosque in Melayu Village was designed to be a vehicle for community development. For this purpose, the concept of Islamic Architecture was initiated, a concept that prioritizes the principles of Hablum Minallah, Hablum Minannas, and Hablum Minal'alam. Then, the method applied is Sense of Place or the essence of a place which is designed so that people both outside and inside the mosque feel comfortable and calm. The site is located in Melayu Village, Banjar Regency with an area of 30,000 m2, an area designed to accommodate community activities in economic, social, and educational. Based on the rules, the Jami Mosque is required to accommodate a minimum capacity of 1,000 people, so the mosque area applied is 1,664 m2 with one floor.

POSTPARTUM CARE CENTER KOTA BANJARMASIN

The postpartum period is a crucial phase for mothers. During this time, most mothers undergo significant physical and psychological changes, such as Postpartum Depression (PPD) or what is commonly known as the baby blues, making this phase one of the main contributing factors to the high Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR). The lack of dedicated facilities and services for postpartum mothers highlights the urgency of designing a Postpartum Care Center in Banjarmasin as a solution to provide a supportive environment for maternal recovery. This design applies the Spatial Perception method and the Therapeutic Architecture approach to create spaces that promote healing. The implementation of the Mommy’s Therapeutic Space concept in the Postpartum Care Center is expected to offer a safe, comfortable, and responsive environment for postpartum recovery. Mommy’s Therapeutic Space integrates four key aspects: Social Connectivity, which fosters social interaction among mothers; Homelike Comfort, which provides a sense of security, tranquility, and comfort akin to home; Serenity, which promotes relaxation and peace of mind; and Maternal Essence, which prioritizes maternal experiences and characteristics in design aspects. These four interconnected concepts are designed to create a Postpartum Care Center environment that not only supports the mother's recovery process but also contributes to long-term maternal well-being
