This study aimed to analyze insect diversity on paddy cultivated in two different land types: Anjir Muara Kota Tengah Village (Anjir Muara District, Barito Kuala Regency) and Labuan Tabu Village (Martapura District, Banjar Regency). The research employed survey methods and direct observation on rice fields of predetermined sizes across two sites differing in regional characteristics and land types. Data analysis was conducted quantitatively by compiling tables detailing insect species, the number of individuals found, and the insects' roles within the agricultural ecosystem. Insect sampling was carried out using insect nets. The results showed that 62 insect individuals comprising 16 species were found in Anjir Muara Kota Tengah Village, with Coccinella californica having the highest number of individuals. Findings in Labuan Tabu Village revealed 95 individuals belonging to 21 species, with Leptocorisa oratorius being the most abundant. Diversity indices for both sites fell into the moderate category, while dominance indices indicated the absence of any single dominant species. Insect population conditions were influenced by biological, physical, and environmental factors.
