Preferred Learning Styles Of Eleventh Grade Students of Senior High School
Abstract
Learning styles is the way learners to learn the information and knowledge. It helps learners to learn faster and easier by using the appropriate learning styles. This study described the most preferred learning styles of the students of the eleventh grade at MAN 2 Model Banjarmasin. Quantitative method was used to analyze the data. The sampling was conducted by cluster random sampling. In collecting the data, the researcher used a questionnaire adopted from Quantum Teaching book by Deporter and Hernacki, documentation of students’ English achievement score and interview as supporting data. There were 30 items of the questionnaire which were already valid and reliable. The findings of this research showed that most preferred learning styles of the students of eleventh grade were visual learning styles. It showed that visual learners learn best through visions. Furthermore, learning styles that were mostly used by the students with the highest English achievement score were visual learning style and learning styles that were mostly used by the students with the lowest English achievement score were auditory learning style.
