ANALYSIS OF HEAVY METAL CONTENT LEAD (Pb) AND CADMIUM (Cd) IN SEDIMENT AND WATER AT THE ESTUARY OF THE BARITO RIVER, ALUH –ALUH DISTRICT BANJAR DISTRICT, SOUTH KALIMANTAN PROVINCE
Abstract
Status baku mutu air suatu perairan sangat penting dalam menunjang pertumbuhan organisme atau biota suatu perairan yang hidup didalamnya. Penentuan dan penilaian status mutu air sangat perlu dilakukan sebagai acuan pengamatan tingkat cemaran kualitas air. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menentukan indeks pencemaran berdasarkan parameter fisika dan kimia yang meliputi diantaranya: pH, DO, Salinitas, Kecerahan, Suhu, Timbal dan Kadmium di perairan Muara Sungai Barito, Kecamatan Aluh-aluh,Kabupaten Banjar Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan.Pengambilan sampel kualitas air dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali pengulangan pada lima stasiun kemudian dilakuakn analisis data dengan mengunakan Indeks Pencemaran yang telah di tetapkan dalam Keputusan Menteri Lingkungan Hidup No. 115 Tahun 2003. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan indeks pencemaran menunjukan bahwa perairan Muara Sungai Barito tergolong tercemar ringan dengan kisaran nilai rata - rata [Pij] sebesar (2.61-4.25).
The status of the water quality standard in a waters is very important to support the growth of organisms or biota of a water that lives in it. Determination and evaluation of the status of water quality is very necessary as a reference to observe the level of water quality pollution. This study aims to look deeper into the quality status and determine the pollution index based on physical and chemical parameters including: pH, DO, Salinity, Brightness, Temperature, Lead (Pb) and Cadmium (Cd) in the waters of the Barito River, Aluh District -aluh, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province. Water quality sampling was carried out three times with repetition at five stations and then analyzed the data using the Pollution Index that has been specified in Minister of Environment Decree No. 115 of 2003. Through the observation of the pollution index shows that the waters of the Barito River Estuary are in the category of mildly polluted with a range of average values [Pij] of (2.61-4.25)
